This book has insight in to the contrarian views of Netflix and how they have built a hub of innovation and stayed ahead of the market with these principles.
Personally, I got a lot of practical insights about team design and culture building. It also 'gave me permission' to think outside the box with organizational culture and leadership.
Who should read it:
Entrepreneurs, managers, and anyone interested in organizational culture and leadership.
These books cover the story of the early and later days of Amazon, and the evolution of Jeff Bezos' leadership.
Personally, it was an interesting story to read. While you may or may not get tactical steps to integrate for yourself, you still get to see how things evolved with a well know tech giant, and how they went from optimizing their book store to innovations in AI, logistics and media and their effect on this modern world.
Who should read them:
Entrepreneurs, business leaders, and product leaders who manage a portfolio of features/products.
Deep dives in to two era defining companies. The book on Steve Jobs is a great insight in to his personality, relentless need for perfection and how his vision evolved over time. No filter similarly follows the story of Instagram and how it became a culture defining company of our age.
The common learning from both is how these companies evolved and how they impacted modern culture. Personally, it helped evolve my thinking about the early stage.
Who should read them:
Anyone interested in the intersection of design, technology and culture.
Both books offer narratives from world class visionaries, who defied convention and norms in their industries.
You can see their crazy high goals being highlighted and how they pushed through any blocks. Relentless pursuit of their visions.
Who should read them:
Entrepreneurs or really anyone interested in brand building or understanding the history of household name companies.
Very simple to follow book that helps you understand venture capital, tactical advice for people fundraising for their startups but most importantly helps build a key understanding about the incentives for everyone involved with venture capital.
Who should read them:
Startup founders, aspiring VC investors and (in my opinion) any startup employee looking to make an impact at their startup.
